Admission FAQs

At Sapling, our experience tells us that children see success in school when they are the right age for the right class. As such, we have put together a recommended age criterion which is in line with the Right to Education Act. 

Recommended age criteria: 

Playgroup: 2 years + (Born between June 1st 2023 and June 30th 2024) 

Nursery: 3 years +  (Born between June 1st 2022 and June 1st 2023)

LKG: 4 years + (Born between June 1st 2021 and June 1st 2022) 

UKG: 5 years + (Born between June 1st 2020 and June 1st 2021)

Important Note:

This being said, the State Government currently allows children who turn 6 years old on December 31st, to attend grade 1 in June of the same year (thus effectively making the age for grade 1 as 5 years and 6 months as of June. Due to this, we will also accept children who do not meet the "Recommended Age Criterion" mentioned above as long as they meet the Government age criterion. 

Current 1st Std Age Criteria in the State of Maharashtra

For children entering Grade 1 in June 2026, they should complete 6 years by December 31st 2026. 

At Sapling we encourage applications from all children, and we do not "select" children. Admissions are granted purely on a first-come-first-served basis.

Parents of children who have any specific needs must take an appointment to meet with us to ensure that we are able to meet those specific needs in the best interests of the child. 

•   Admissions are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
• We recommend visiting one of our education centres to learn about our programs and approach. (If you’re already confident, you may skip the visit.)

How to apply

1. Complete the relevant application form located in the ‘Application Forms’ section, under the Admissions icon.
2. After submission, you will receive an email indicating whether your child is accepted or waitlisted.

If accepted

• You will have 24 hours to complete and submit the parent undertaking.
• After we receive the parent undertaking, we will email the fee details and payment instructions.
• You will then have 72 hours to complete payment to secure the place.
• Once payment is received, you will get a receipt and a confirmation email for your child’s admission.

If waitlisted

• We will keep you informed of your application status. If a place becomes available and your application is moved to accepted, please follow the steps above.

We work with the Razorpay Payment Gateway for accepting payments and hence fees may be paid by a number of different modes. (UPI is the only free mode of payment)

Yes, Sapling does provide bus services and operates several buses across different routes. Our bus routes for the academic year are confirmed each year, depending on the number of applications we receive for the service. 

Yes, Sapling also runs a full-fledged Dayhome centre. 

The Dayhome centre operates from 11 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. There are several options for the Dayhome services that we provide.
